Diabetes Prevention is offered at NO COST and runs for one year with a total of 22 classes. Participants will be guided by trained coaches who will encourage them to lose 5 percent to 7 percent of their body weight by increasing physical activity and making healthy lifestyle changes. During the overview session, participants will learn about prerequisites and expectations for attending classes.
Participants must attend one of the two overview sessions to register for the class.
Overview Sessions will be held at McHenry County Department of Health Building A,Friday, January 11 at 12noon or Monday, January 14 at 5pm.

*Take Charge of Your Diabetes Workshop was developed by Stanford University. It’s a six week focus on improving physical activity, self-care, nutrition and taking individual action steps. You must be 18 years of age or order to take part. Anyone at risk for or diagnosed with diabetes. anyone who cares for someone with diabetes. Coinciding with these classes, the health department is also increasing the availability of health screenings offering A1C or blood sugar testing.
