It is a story of triumph and tragedy in a small town in western Illinois. Tragedy you ask....None really, just sounds more important. From a young age Wild wanted to be on the radio. Often he would make his own radio shows on tape, and the local police would use them for interrigation of criminals. They figured if they could stomach the whole tape long enough, then they weren't going to get a confession that day. Most criminals cracked within the first 30 seconds.
From there, Wild got older, and his radio show tapes became more unbearable, so he decided to try his hand as a sock puppet master. The money wasn't great, however, it wasn't complicated work. He would go on to do this for the next 3 years before fate would deal him a great hand. Wild would be playing chess in the park one day, and a young man by the name of Bobby would sit down accross the table from him and challenge him to a game. Little did Wild know that he was facing Chess legend Bobby Fischer. Wild would win, and go on to win chess tournaments all over the globe. Wild would find that fame was fleeting, and would retire at the age of 12 from professional chess.
What would be next for Wild would take him back to the place he started. Wild would start doing radio show tapes again, which would lead to a gig as rodeo announcer, then bingo caller, and finally a part time job at a radio station that only reached one farm in the county. After dissappointing ratings, Wild would move on to doing radio in a bigger town of Davenport, Iowa, where he would lose his hair, move to Des Moines, and then, here, to Crystal Lake. Listen nightly at your own risk.
