Applications for the 2013 Historic Architectural Rehabilitation Grant Program are still available at the City of Elgin’s Planning and Neighborhood Services Department, City Hall, 150 Dexter Court.
Since the inception of the program in 1995, the City has awarded more than 325 grants, assisting property owners with the completion of more than $6 million in rehabilitation projects.
The Historic Architectural Rehabilitation Grant Program provides residential property owners of structures in designated historic districts with reimbursement grants of up to $20,000 for the restoration of exterior architectural features. The City of Elgin will kick-off the 2013-2014 Historic Rehabilitation Grant Program by holding an informational workshop on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 6:00 P.M., in the City Council Chambers, South Tower, 2nd Floor of City Hall, 150 Dexter Court, Elgin IL 60120. This meeting will acquaint potential applicants with the program details, and provide the opportunity for City staff to answer questions regarding the applications, including detailed information regarding the program eligibility requirements and guidelines.
