A head on crash in unincorporated Marengo has killed a Garden Prairie man. McHenry County Sheriff's Police say 63-year-old Stephan Ford was driving his car on Route 20, east of Johnson Road Friday morning when a car heading in the opposite direction of Route 20 crossed over into his lane and crashed head on, killing Ford. Police say their preliminary investigation indicates a 2012 Lincoln MKZ driven by 86-year-old Roderick Mann of Lincolnshire struck Ford's Honda sedan. Mann was taken to Centegra Hospital Woodstock by Marengo Fire Protection District and was treated for what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. Ford was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Sheriff's Police say Ford was not wearing his safey belt and the Honda did not have airbags. Airbags did deploy in the Lincoln and Mann was wearing his safety belt. Sheriff's Police continue to investigate.
