Weekend Wrap-Up

Dec 17, 2012 -- 1:30pm

We all received some very sad news come Friday morning with the events that took place in CT, and to honest, I just cannot fathom the emotions and heartbreak that families are dealing with at this time of need.  My heart and prayers go out to all of the families who lost loved ones on Friday.  Be sure to hug your children a little bit harder and cherish each moment you have with loved ones!

That being said, this weekend was all about giving back to families in need.  Friday we helped Feed The Nation with Miller Lite and Miller 64 at Lindy's Landing in Wauconda!  Great food, great spirits, and great company!  With your help we managed to help feed several families for the upcoming holiday! Check out some of the photos from our live broadcast this Friday and be sure to come back to Lindy's and experience the delicious food and the scenic view!

Saturday kicked off our annual Toy Drive with the Salvation Army!  Oh, My, Goodness!  You all came by and made some pretty amazing donations to help kids in our area have something to open on Christmas Morning!  I can't tell you how many times I got chills going through my body everytime someone came by and made a donation of a new toy.  It is acts of kindness like this that truly make a difference in a very unpredicable world that we live in.  The Holidays are all about helping out those in need, and truly you Mchenry County proved that you are here for those that need that extra bit of help!  Thank you for making a difference with all of us from Star 105.5!
