What a difference 3 months make! It's so funny how a few months have gone by and so much has changed. I am a proud mother of the sweetest, most beautiful little auburn haired Irish princess. Her name is Reilly Jane and she has taught me what true love really is.
First let's discuss the sleepless nights. You weren't kidding, I should have enjoyed my sleep waaay before I went into labor! I would kill to hit the snooze button on my alarm, but instead now I don't even set an alarm because I know I'm going to be up at an ungodly hour. And how could we forget how our conversations have changed? I used to have civilzed, adult conversations about current events, politics, etc but now, my vocabulary doesn't stretch far from how my child is pooping! C'mon parents, you know what I'm talking about! Plus, can we just note that my new favorite "perfume" is O'de Puke! Ahh yes, it's the little things that keep us smiling when we're only sleeping in 20 minute intervals, or when a 2 minute shower seems like a day at the spa! As long as my little girl is healthy and happy, all is well in the world!
Now for Mommy's proud moment of the day: I taught Reilly how to say "WOOO!"
I know many of you have been wondering the status of my baby so I wanted to take a minute between feedings and tiny power naps to update you and show you a few pictures. Sunday night Reilly Jane was born to the world weighing in at 7lbs and 2oz. She is absolutely perfect and has the most unique caramel colored full head of hair. The delivery process was surprisingly quick and easy (once I opted for the epidural), it literally took one push and there she was! It was a funny experience as both my nurses and my doctor were not prepared for such a fast delivery. I guess Reilly couldn't wait to see the world!
The recovery process has been easy too. We were discharged and are now safe at home doing well and NOT sleeping at all. Baby is sleeping during the day but wide awake between the hours of 11pm-4pm so that means Mommy is up too. We will eventually get adjusted to our new lives together and in the meantime are enjoying every minute of this new found love. I never knew I could love something so much until I wrapped my arms around the most beautiful baby girl I've ever laid eyes on.
As many of you have inquired I will be taking some time off to have a baby. But don't worry you will be in GREAT hands as Mojo from nights will be taking over afternoons in my absence. She will be sure to keep you laughing on your ride home while giving you the best variety of music and hooking you up with tons of hot concert tickets, water park passes and more!
I'm excited to begin this new adventure into motherhood (wow that's still weird to say) and will certainly keep you updated along the way. If you want to keep in contact you can always email me firstname.lastname@example.org or follow me on Facebook and on Twitter (@Mollyj85). You can bet that I will be posting pictures of my little one and keeping you up to date on my lack of sleep and struggles of being a new mommy! Please don't hesitate to check in or leave me advice, especially if you've done this before. The more I know, the better my child will turn out! haha.
I'll miss talking to you every day and will look forward to telling you all about my new journey when I return!
HERE GOES NOTHING!
