Fox Valley Theatre Company and Children's Theatre of Elgin presents

The first full-length musical by the legendary team Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, lights up the Blizzard Theatre stage this September.
This popular retelling of the biblical story of Joseph and his coat of many colors is jam-packed with an energetic mix of music and dancing.
Jacob Groth, of St. Charles, plays the lead role of Joseph, a boy who can interpret dreams and receives the coat as a gift from his father, Jacob (Justin Bush of North Aurora).
His jealous brothers sell him into slavery in Egypt, where he is purchased by Potiphar. Potiphar's wife (Mary Grace Martens of Elgin) has him thrown into jail after he rejects her.
While imprisoned, news of Joseph's prophetic abilities reaches the Pharaoh, comically portrayed as Elvis by Colin Bokowy  of Algonquin.
Joseph soon becomes second in command. Having suffered years of hardship, Joseph's brothers eventually find themselves begging for mercy from the brother they once betrayed.

The colorful story is told almost completely through song and dance, featuring a wide variety of memorable musical numbers including "Any Dream Will do", Benjamin Calypso,
Jacob and Sons/Joseph's Coat, "Song of the King", and "Go, Go, Go Joseph". This is a show that both actors and audiences really enjoy. It's one of the first shows we presented
when we initially branched out from our Children's Theatre productions to include main stage performances geared to adult audiences. It was very well received.
The Board of Directors felt it was time to bring it back with a new generation of talent, said Andy Bero, Joseph director and choreographer.
It's not only the adults who will appreciate Joseph. The show's upbeat nature and moral lessons also make it a great theatrical experience for younger audiences.
And, this production, like the Broadway productions of Joseph, features a children's chorus.

'This is such a fun show. And, I consider it such an honor to portray Joseph because I've always admired Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice,' said Groth.
'The cast is terrific, too. Everyone here has been so welcoming.'

In addition to Bero, Joseph's creative team includes;
    Vocal director, Chris Cherry
    Associate Vocal Director Erin Minogue
    Set designer Joe Pietrie
    Costume designer, Fran Mitchel
    Lighting designer Bob Haddleton
