McHenry County Youth Orchestra's Spring Concert

CRYSTAL LAKE - The McHenry County Youth Orchestras (MCYO) will present their final concert of the 2013-2014 season entitled "Tales, Triumphs & Travels" as part of our season theme "Discovery".
The concert will be held at Woodstock North High School (3000 Raffel Road, Woodstock) at 4:00 pm on Sunday the 18th of May.
All three youth orchestras will be performing on this concert. The Prelude Orchestra, a strings only orchestra for our youngest members, will be guest conducted by our Music Director, Eugene Power.
Among their selection they will be playing "Danny Boy" and "Phantom of the Opera". The Intermezzo Orchestra, conducted by Andrew Malovance will be featuring Concerto winner, Connor Pils, Concertmaster, on a Vivaldi violin concerto. Their performance will include pieces by Saint-Sans, Schubert, Grieg & Wagner. The Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Music Director, Eugene Power, will be featuring co-concerto winners, Hannah Aitken on a Bach viola concerto and Riley Bernardi playing a flute concerto by Chaminade. The rest of the Symphony Orchestra's repertoire includes music composed by Bernstein, Copland and ends with Holst's "Jupiter".
