May 10th the letter carriers, both city and rural, will be collecting food left by patrons mailboxes all across the country.
Millions of pounds of food is collected each year which helps feed those in need. The Salvation Army in St Charles passes out about 800 bags of groceries each month and the food collected helps replenish their shelves. All food collected in each town, stays in that town. That means the food collected by the Crystal Lake Post Office goes to local food pantries or churches and likewise for all the other communities. Ask your listeners to be generous in leaving non-perishable food at their mailbox on Saturday May 10th.
