Credit Smart: Take Charge of your Financial Footing ~ April 10th, 7pm - 8:30pm
This workshop, offered by the Illinois Comptroller's Consumer Affairs Office, will cover comparison shopping for credit cards, gaining a better understanding of statements, and reviewing credit scores and history.

Shred Event  ~  April 12,  9am - 12pm                                                                                                                                                    Have you finished your taxes? Now clean out your files!
Protect yourself from identity theft and gain peace of mind by knowing that your important documents will not end up in the wrong hands. This free event provides a safe and secure place to shred confidential personal and business documents. During the event, anyone can have their documents shredded onsite by a certified Cintas employee.
Please note: There is a limit of two boxes per person.

TED Talks - Ideas Worth Spreading ~ April 12,  10:30am - 12:30pm
Each month we'll watch 2 or 3 TED Talks on a wide variety of topics and interests.
Over coffee we'll discuss the information covered in the talks presented. No pre-meeting reading or prep required. Just show up and tune in!

We're turning book pages into gorgeous butterflies and fastening them to a wreath to provide a pretty springtime accent for your home.

Savor the Sixties ~ April 15, 7pm - 8pm
Experience the trends and major events of the 1960s. Vintage cookbook presenter Amy Alessio will take you back in time with memories of cheese in a can, Jiffy Pop, Tang, and other favorites of the era. Local and national highlights from the news, society, and Hollywood will also be covered in this nostalgic snapshot of the past.

Google Apps Classes  ~  Gmail:  April 16,  6:30pm - 7:30pm
Learn the basics of Google-based email. We will help you set up a Gmail account. Class requires basic typing and mouse skills.

Genealogy Interest Group  ~  April 24,  7pm - 8:30pm
Looking for ancestors in all the wrong places? This is the place to ask questions, share your knowledge, and find others who understand that researching family histories can be fun and exciting.

Books & Bites: Senior Cafe  ~  April 30,  12pm - 1:30pm
Registration is required. Gather a friend or two and hit the library for lunch. We'll provide food and entertainment, all free for your enjoyment.  Celebrate National Humor Month with the queen of "clean" comedy. Sally Edwards's squeaky clean and downright sidesplitting stand-up routine will have you laughing those April showers away!  This program is being offered in partnership with the Wauconda Park District and Wauconda Township.  Participation in this event is limited to residents of Wauconda Township.

Our country dealt with a number of dilemmas in the '60s. We faced racial inequality and took steps to eradicate it. We questioned whether fighting a war in Vietnam really made us more secure and then protested against those who put young lives at risk.
The Greatest Generation that saved the world during WWII confronted their children, who had a very different view of what needed to be saved. Gary Midkiff will present this compelling program on a turbulent decade in American history.
