The members of the Bull Valley Garden Club welcome you to their Annual Plant Sale on the Old Courthouse Lawn on the Woodstock Square on Saturday, May 10, 2014 (Mother's Day weekend) from 8:00 AM until sellout.
Members will sell herbs and unusual lettuces, native wildflowers such as bluebells, wild ginger, jack-in-the-pulpit, columbine, and celandine poppies, and also unusual perennials and grasses from their lawns and woods.
Floral bouquets will be available, and you may purchase raffle tickets ($1.00 for one and $5.00 for six) and put your tickets in the basket for the raffle item(s) of your choice - drawing will be at 12 noon.
To complete the selection of plants, Intrinsic Perennial Gardens will be selling a full range of professionally grown plants.
Pink Pumpkin (Porcelain Doll) plants will be available the world's first pink pumpkin.
The Pink Pumpkin Patch Foundation was created in 2012 to aid in the fight against breast cancer, and they award a percentage of proceeds from every pink pumpkin sold to organizations involved in breast cancer research.
Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, was awarded a $30,000.00 grant in 2013 to further their research that focuses on genetic techniques to identify molecular mechanisms of drug resistance and to identify new targets for existing therapies.
The Garden Club will use the proceeds from the sale for Scholarships for horticulture students at McHenry County College.
