Fun to see Lady Gaga kick back and have some fun. We're so used to seeing her all dressed up in weird outfits. She hit the pool at a hotel in Texas the other day and TMZ has posted some pretty candid shots including the one you see to the left.

She hung out, had some food and drinks, and even played pool "chicken"

One thing as a parent I am really bad at is determining if my kids need medical attention. I usually lean toward taking them to the doctor or hospital until my wife talks me out of it! LOL!

This little mishap yesterday.l My 2 year old ran toward the hose spiggot and bumped his head on the siding of the house. It was this MASSIVE bump and I was like should I worry. He cried a bit and then seemed fine. Is the rule of thumb if they don't stop crying bring them? I'm a freak!

Pirates of the Caribbean is a pretty lucrative movie franchise and it's because of this guy - Jack Sparrow.

Johnny Depp is the perfect fit for this role and at Comic-Con (gathering of geeks in California) over this past weekend this teaser was released for the next movie. Pretty fun!

Have you ever seen "Children of the Corn?" Maybe clicking here will refresh your memory! Anyway, it is THEE movie that scared the hell out of me as a kid and to this day I see corn by my house and get the willies! Bon Jovi thought these pictures would never see the light of day. He fought to keep them from you! Well, his former manager is part of a new book coming out and the pictures are all part of it. Our friensd at TMZ have leaked the pictures of Bon Jovi with some scantily clad women from the 80's.

Come on Jovi it was the 80's! You were young and a little more crazy right? Warning: If you are offended by rockstars with scantily clad women do not click through!

For some it's a pet peeve when someone sends an email and there are words and grammar butchered up. Many of us are guilty of it because we use that auto pilot called "Spell Check" on our Microsoft Word. Lindsay is in jail and doing just fine according to TMZ. She's not crying her eyes out or on suicide watch - she kind of just is. TMZ is reporting that she is on here ADHD meds and getting Ambien to help her sleep at night too.

I guess that will get her through what is now just a two week stay instead of almost a month. Good behavior and overcrowding in California jails helped her get the lighter sentence. Have to say she looked great court yesterday morning and even in her mugshot. More pics at link.

There is no way that I would follow this advice for the air conditioning over the summer. I want to be comfortable and that usually means keeping the thermostat down at about 72. What are you keeping yours at? The trade off is a higher electric bill but we pay for that luxury! This article says you will save 35 to 55 percent on your bill if when you leave you set the thermostat to 85. Yeah, and then sweat your rear end off!

Stumbled upon this little place with my kids yesterday on way to the store. It is not massive and is really just hidden off to the side of the road. Once I pulled in it was surprising cause it was so quiet and nice - until my kids got out of the car. On the way home from Libertyville Mitsubishi Tina Bree and I pulled into the Camping World on Route 176 and Darrell Road. I want to look into taking one of these bad boys with the family on a little road trip sometime in August. Here's the thing. Tina said I can't handle one of these and my wife already said she refuses to get in one with me at the wheel.

Can it be that bad?

The BP leak. There is seepage. The local economies of how many Gulf communities are affected? An idea I came up with on the way to work this morning. Have all the CEO's and higher ups of BP and even some in our government move with their families to the coast. That might add a little more urgency to the matter don't you think? Just sayin!!

MONDAY, JULY 19TH, 2010

The first ever (for me!) America's Cardboard Cup Regatta and it was a blast! What an effort by the organizers and a showing of support by YOU to come out on a super hot day and support. The boats were so much fun and the creativity was astounding in some cases.

The winner was "Old No. 7" taking on the Defending Champs (that was their name from last year). Lots of families and groups took part and I must say that I had no idea how much fun this day would end up being!

Centegra's Huntley location was another hot spot over the weekend as they had a Family Fest going down. The line was long to get in but patience prevailed and you had a chance to get a lot of free stuff like bike helmets for the kids and more. They even opened up the pool at the Healthbridge so you could cool off! Last week it was Bon Jovi hurt on stage -  now it's Pink! She has been doing these aerial/circus like stunts in her shows for a while now. Recall the MTV Music Awards a few years ago and most recently the Grammy's when she was dangling singing "Glitter in the Air". This time it was in Germany.

Best way to describe it is she became part of a human sling shot. Go to about 40 seconds in. Warning: She does swear!

Funny or Die is a website that churns out videos every once and awhile that are too good to pass up. They usually have huge success when they recruit big stars to be featured in them. Jewel, yes, singer Jewel, is the latest to jump on board.

They dressed her down as Karen a karaoke singer and she belted out her own songs. It's a short video and so fun to see the crowd's reaction!

Playing hurt is what Bon Jovi did over the weekend. He strained a calf muscle in a concert in New Jersey. No word if it will affect his Chicago dates later this month as of yet.

Lindsay Lohan sentenced to jail! Big story! The video of the sentencing is priceless. Her face is frozen with fear and she is scared and crying. The judge addresses her and tells her exactly WHY she'll be going to jail. The judge says it like it is.

TUESDAY, JULY 6TH, 2010 (scroll down for "Where in McHenry County" Picture)

How about the loooooooong weekend? Good stuff right? Sunday, the fourth, we went out to the Lakeside Festival in Crystal Lake. It was hot and humid but a lot of fun. My little guy, who's 2, was THAT kid. The one who freaks out when he gets on the carnival ride and it has to be stopped. Poor kid. He was so excited he was tall enough to actually get on the thing...but then it turned bad. We got a laugh out of it, but he may be scarred for life. It's wrong but I have a few pics. The Thomas Nicholas Band took the stage and rocked out. Thomas Nicholas was in the movie "Rookie of the Year", "American Pie", and more recently "Please Give". He was super nice and so was the whole band. They surprised me with how good they sounded. Let's be honest, an actor, with a band, sometimes goes bad.

Had a chance to finally get out on a boat in the area. A friend invited my family out to Round Lake Beach to hang and watch some fireworks on Saturday night. To be totally honest it was not fun chasing little kids on a boat. It was a good sized boat but to chase them around the whole time was nerve racking! Next time - we'll need a sitter! LOL! But at the end of the day nice to get out.
